Congratulations to Isabella for winning the senior division at the 2009 Athena Scholarship competition at Darlington Arts Center.
Her two song choices were:
Nina by Pergolesi and I Attempt From Love Sickness by Purcell. My presence made her nervous so I left the scene prior to her performance. Apparently she sang them beautifully with judges commenting on her nice tone and great song choices.
A word about the Athena Scholarship at Darlington Arts Center:
In honor of former director Athena Sophocles, this scholarship is awarded for private music lessons at Darlington and is granted solely on the basis of ability and talent to Middle and High School students. Auditions are held in the spring of each year.

WOW! Oh Bella, congratulations! I wish I were there to listen! Soon enough, at the end of this week! And don’t be shy. Warn Ana, Simona and Emil as I’ll look forward to some kind of performance from each one of them as well, even if it’s just a generous laugh session with your old auntie.
