Love them over at the Apple store. They knocked off an additional 20 bucks! They also advised us to back up our data and endless photo files…we got lucky this time, our hard drive was unharmed. Whew.

Yikes, I Dropped the Laptop

“Don’t drop the laptop!” These are the words I speak, and sometimes rather loudly, to my children everyday as they are on the computer more than I. They are also much more adept at the gadget than I. The computer is just an extension of their fingertips it seems. This blog thing is about the most exciting thing I’ve done on a computer recently. Being the authority figure that I am, never mind my lack of computer genius, I feel it necessary to remind them daily, many times daily, that utmost care must be taken when handling the laptop. Given as a gift to my eldest daughter last Xmas, it has been a nice addition to our family. No more waiting in line at our one computer, our lovely mac bought in 2004 now out dated since the recent updates to Leopard and iLife… Anyway, the laptop was dropped the other day. Not by my children, not by my husband, but by ME. Yes, I dropped it as I carelessly pulled it out of it’s case with my fingertips, I almost saw it coming, then bam, crash on the floor. At first it appeared as if nothing was wrong then I realized the computer wasn’t charging and lost complete power. Apparently, I knocked something out of place. It’s on its way to Texas for repairs with a three to four week waiting period. Luckily it’s still under warranty. Bad news is because it didn’t have any power left I couldn’t backup any data. Now all documents could be lost forever. Mom (my mother-in-law) I should have listened to you and backed up all our stuff or at least made hard copies of them. AAAAAAH!
This stinks.
